Yes, I Recommend Toner & Here’s Why:
I’m often asked if toner is a necessary part of a skincare routine and my answer is, yes! It’s important to use facial cleansers that are pH balanced and not removing the protective barrier but toners are great to rebalance the skin’s pH, remove chemicals left on the skin from water and prepare the skin to more readily receive serums and moisturizers. When serums and moisturizers are applied to damp skin they’re able to travel deeper into the skin vs. when the skin is dry. I, personally like to use toner on cotton after cleansing because you can actually see sunscreen, makeup or any debris from the day is completely removed.
In the video I am using Daily Brightening Tonic from January Labs. I love this toner because it hydrates, but also noticeably brightens and gently exfoliates with Lactic Acid. I like to think of it a milder clean beauty swap for the cult-favorite Lotion P50. To mimic the application of Lotion P50, apply the Brightening Tonic on a cotton and gently press or glide over the face, neck and décolleté.
Toners can also simply be misted on to the skin for rebalancing (in the video I am misting January Labs, Restorative Tonic Mist) or to refresh makeup or rehydrate the skin throughout the day. You can also simply apply them directly to the face with your hands. Many formulas are so sophisticated and really help target your specific skincare needs, just be sure to choose one for your skin type.
In full disclosure, I was given these toners by January Labs. I am not being paid to use or post about these products. It is also important for me to be note that I do not share products I honestly do not like, would personally use or recommend. As always, I am thrilled you stopped by to read and would love answer any questions you may have in the comments below.
Wishing you balanced, healthy, hydrated skin~
