If you’ve watched the above video, you’ll know that I’ve been trying Honua Skincare and I’ve shared my thoughts on a few of the products I’ve tried. Here are some details about the products in the video.
Pa’akai Cleansing Cream (+mask) *Tip: apply the cleanser before hopping in the shower, and allow the steam to boost the benefits and increase penetration of the cleanser. I love the idea of self-care rituals on any day of the week and not just reserving them for #selfcaresunday. I mean, who doesn’t want a faux, I just got home from a Hawaiian vacation glow on a regular weekday?!
Aloha Youth Serum: Lightweight, so pairs well under your oil, moisturizer or spf. If you have oily skin, you could choose to use this serum as your moisturizer.
Malu Protecting Day Cream +SPF 30: Pleasant scent and quite moisturizing so if you have dry skin you’ll likely love. This sun protectant contains a high percentage (18.9%) of non-nano Zinc Oxide, a physical protectant that is especially beneficial for sensitive skin types. Honua states this is reef and ocean safe. It’s wonderful to use a product where a portion of its proceeds go to Sustainable Coastlines.
Moana Mask: Contains potent ingredients like Hawaiian Spirulina, a blue green algae that is high in antioxidants and known to boost cell regeneration as well as Laukahi, a healing plant used for centuries. Not only does it absorb excess sebum and draw out impurities with three different clays but it also includes restoring ingredients such as macadamia nut oil and Hawaiian honey. It’s important with clay masks that you don’t leave them on too long and let them dry out completely as they can draw out too much moisture from your skin, causing dryness and inflammation (redness). 10-15 minutes is long enough. I’ll also note that my man likes this mask and it is now living on his side of the bathroom.
One point I did not share in the video is, Honua is affordable! This is great news for those of you wanting to add to your clean beauty routine as the products range from $24-$58.
It’s also important to shout out that Honua supports small Hawaiian farms that supply the ingredients for the handmade products. The brand also supports and hosts beach cleanups with Sustainable Coastlines and Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and thank you for taking the time to stop by!
I was given these products by the founder of Honua. My comments are sincere and I in no way receive payment for sharing this post.
